WNC LGBTQ Oral History Project

Welcoming Western North Carolina Map in Pride Colors

Welcome!

We want to hear from you.

We are working with the University of North Carolina Asheville to launch an oral history project focusing on western North Carolina’s LGBTQ community and its rich history.  The university is dedicating one of its spring courses to this project.  All of the students in the course identify as LGBTQ.

During this first wave, we plan to conduct a series of interviews with about ten community members from the WNC area.  For this first wave, we are particularly interested in people who have been part of the community for some time.  The interviews may involve a combination of audio, video and written output.  Interviewees will have an opportunity to review anything before it is published.

If you are at all interested in participating, please fill in the information below.  We will get back to you with more information about or approach and schedule.    Please feel free to share this link.

Thank you!
