Welcome 2020 Exhibitors and Vendors!

September 26, 2020

11:00 am – 7:00 pm @ Pack Square Park

Exhibitors and Vendors: You rock our world!

Where else can people shop for jobs, houses, social justice, community services, merchandise, sports teams, faith, healthcare, books, ideas, arts & crafts … all while enjoying a day of music, dance and food?  One of the coolest parts of the festival is to see such a variety of merchants, artists, activists, companies, and community services come together in one common space. It’s magic.  And you make it happen.

Vendor FAQs

Key Changes From 2019

  • We lowered prices for non-profits.
  • We are reducing the number of spaces in a couple of areas that experienced crowding last year (notably, along College Avenue).  We had filled them to make the space busy and to increase traffic.  We went a little too far.
  • We are elevating the main stage speakers.  This will send sound above the audience instead of into it.
  • We are moving all port-a-johns far from food service areas and adding more space along College Avenue for food trucks.  This worked well in 2018.
  • We will be towing anyone who parks illegally – even for 3 minutes.  The Fire Department wasn’t happy last year.  Some vendors couldn’t set up.

How We Evaluate Applications

  • We generally operate on a first-pay, first-serve basis.
  • We try to give preference to local organizations.  This includes national organizations that hire and operate locally.
  • We limit the number of vendors in a specific category (e.g., arts & crafts; massage services).  This is both to support vendors and to ensure variety at the festival.
  • We try to place people where they would like to be.  However, we make all location decisions.  We do so 3 weeks before the festival.

User's Guides - Welcoming Groups

  • Prepare. There is no save-and-resume button. But you can return to edit an event.
  • Categories. Select at least one category in each group:
    • Event Type
    • Target Audience – who you designed event for
    • Welcoming Pages – where to publish the event
  • Venues / Organizers.  Enter the name of the organizer (your group) and the location (venue).
    • If it is already in the database, the calendar will populate your event with relevant contact and location information.
    • If you have to add a new organizer or venue, please fill in all the fields.  It will help others.
  • Online Events. Select “Online Event” as your Venue.
  • Recurring Events. Powerful, but a little confusing the first time:
    • To enter a meeting on the same date each month (e.g., the 5th), select “on the same day”.
    • To enter a meeting on the same day and/or week (e.g., 1st Monday), select “on a different day”.
