Our LGBTQ+ elders are especially vulnerable to face discrimination, isolation, and uncertainty even as their health and income decline with age. Service providers, especially those in more rural areas, are not trained and equipped to support LGBTQ+ elders. Together, these factors and others significantly affect LGBTQ+ elders’ health outcomes, lifespan, and quality of life.
